Our recommendations for an IBS Diet
IBS Symptoms. Here are some Allergy Test recommendations.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is an uncomfortable disorder characterized by serious changes in bowel movements. The syndrome makes peoples life unbearable: diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and cramps are hard to endure. If you would like to consider a diet which will help you relieve your symptoms, then please consider an IBS diet.
Doctors recommend diets to avoid IBS syndrome, to keep problems with diarrhea, constipation, bloating and the belly pain under control. IBS diets affect different people; it is useful to keep track of every reaction to the common symptom triggers and their prevention.
There are diets to improve the symptoms. These diets can reduce uncomfortable symptoms, leading to a healthy life.
High-fiber diet
An adult must eat 20 – 35 grams fiber a day. It seems simple, but the reality is different: people eat 5 to 15 grams per day. Fruits, grains, vegetables, help prevent constipation. If the increased fiber intake produces bloating, focus on soluble fiber (fruits and vegetables) and avoid whole grains. Eating a diet high in fibre is considered to be an extremely beneficial as an IBS diet.
Low-fiber diet
Fiber can help people with IBS, but for some fiber can worsen the symptoms. The patient must take soluble fiber, such as berries, carrots, apples, and oatmeal. Soluble fiber is dissolvable in water and doesn’t add extra bulk associated with insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber includes nuts, raisins, cabbage, whole grains, and broccoli. A good advice is to take anti-diarrheal medicines a half of an hour before eating fiber to reduce their effects. These pieces of advice are beneficial when eating in a restaurant or on the go. But it is not a long-time solution.
Low-fat diet
High-fat food contributes to a variety of health problems. Fat-foods are low in fiber, being particularly bad for people with IBS. The result is a combination of constipation and diarrhea. A low-fat diet is beneficial for the heart and improves the bowel symptoms. Avoid fried foods and animal fats. Choose fruits, vegetables, grains, and lean meats.
Gluten-free diet
Bread and pasta contain gluten, a protein found in grain. Gluten-intolerant people can support damages in their intestines. People with an intolerance to gluten or sensitivity can experience IBS. Doctor’s recommendation is a gluten-free diet. Avoid wheat, rye from your diet. If you are an enthusiastic pasta or bread fanatic, you can find gluten-free products in health food stores and grocery store.
Elimination diet
An elimination diet is based on avoiding some foods for a long time to check if the IBS symptoms improve. Doctors recommend avoiding these foods: coffee, chocolate, nuts, and insoluble fiber. You need to avoid any suspect food too, for at least 12 months. An IBS Diet can be incredibly beneficial towards eliminating symptoms.
The ultimate IBS diet
Some foods can help, but every patient is different. Never forget to drink plenty of water. Doctor’s advice is mandatory.
